========== WRITTEN TEST ==========
>THE CHRONICLERS HAVE BEEN//ACCEPTED

"And this leads to the main corridor..." Curie said as she swerved around the corner.
Morgan lagged a few steps behind her, trying his very best to not knock anyone over. Curie never had that problem; she just floated straight through their heads.
"Then there's a whole buncha nothing and a couple of windows... whoop-dee-doo..."
"Little miss," Morgan interrupted her, "are these hallways usually as crowded? I was under the impression a library was a quiet place."

A large pile of scrolls came teetering through the door, almost tripping over the trapinch on the other side. Under the scrolls was a flygon, desperately trying not to drop anything, somehow managing to knock over everything. The pokémon around her told her to watch where she was going, to no avail.

"Ohhh... Excuse me, pardon me, Leader's Assistant comin' through... C'mon guys, can’t you have your little meeting thing somewhere that isn't blocking a hallway? 'scuse me, sorry, jeez..."

"They're a lot quieter at night, when most sensible people are asleep," Curie told Morgan. "When it's a full moon, you can... Hello there."
Curie had accidentally drifted through the scrolls and was now staring the flygon in the face. Said flygon dropped everything in a panicked attempt to swat her away. Several pokémon around her had to dodge aside not to get hit by low-flying paper.
"Hey! Don't drop that!" Curie scolded her, "That's Aramis' theory on carbon chemistry, version four! I like that one. It was totally false, but still."
"Little Miss," Morgan said when he finally caught up to her, "I think we should help the lady gather her burden."
"Ah, thanks," the flygon muttered as she picked up scrolls left and right, trying to stack them in a safer way. "Finally someone who doesn't just tell me I'm doing it wrong."
"No problem, miss." Red waves of energy rippled around his golden claws as he picked up a dozen scrolls at once. "We researchers help one another."

"Oooof, so many papers... There we go," she manages, before trying to make another step, precariously balancing everything again.
"Thanks so much for helping me pick all these up. I swear, that’s like the fifth time I’ve tripped today; I’m such a klutz… Heeeey, wait a minute. You don't look familiar. Are you visiting the Guild?"

"Hm..." Curie's eyes turn towards the ceiling. "Morgan, I vaguely recall you mentioning something about 'us researchers'. What could that mean?"
"What miss Curie is trying to say is that we just got ourselves officially registered as members of this prestigious guild."

"Well no wonder I don’t remember you, you're new! Welcome to the Researchers Guild! I'm Kali, I'm one of the Guild Leaders' assistants here. Pleased to meet you! And you are…?"

"Really? You're going to have me repeat everything Morgan just said?" Curie sighed, and rolled her eyes.
"This is Curie, and my name is Morgan Boltzmann. A pleasure indeed." Morgan leaned forward with one silver arm in front of him.
Kali tried to return the gesture, but as she soon found out, bowing and carrying an enormous pile of paper mix very poorly. Instead, she nodded.

"Nice names! You don't hear many like that around here, but then again Andalusst is kind of a mish-mash of a whole bunch of different kinds of names. It's always nice to hear 'em since Pokémon do tend to come in from all over the place, after all. And speaking of which, did you guys get here from the fog or something?"

"Mister Gallant over here did, yeah, " Curie answered. "I've lived here ever since I can remember. And by here, I mean in this library."

"Really? Hmm, yeah, that's how it is for a few people around here. Coming from the fog, I mean. I'm not an Andalusst native myself, but I figured I'd stick around. Anyway, now that you're here and you've been registered as a team, what name did you pick?"

"Yeah, good point!" Curie hovered over to Morgan. "What name are we gonna pick?"
"Actually, I already submitted one," Morgan said. "I named my team before you joined."
"Oh. Doesn't matter, just tell me it's something cool like Team Berserker or Team Flare or something."
"It's The Chroniclers. Didn't I tell you yet?"

"Hah, that's so much better than the name I used when I signed up, wow. I was kind of, uh, young and silly back then, I guess you could say, so the name I used was... yeeeeaaaaah, pretty bad."

"What... Yours must've been pretty bad then." Curie clicked her tongue. "Seriously? The Chroniclers? Couldn't you find anything more boring?"

"So what's your reason for joining the Guild, anyway? There are three guilds here in Andalusst, and even if I like it here with the Researchers, I know it's not the best fit for everyone since we're kinda knowledge-oriented; you could've just as easily registered with the Hunters, or the Explorers. So why here?"

"Because I am always on the lookout for knowledge and stories, things to pass on, write down, or tell around a campfire." Morgan explained. "Without anyone to pass on our tales and wisdom, it is forever lost. That philosophy also sprouted our team name."
Curie thought for a second. "You know what? You made it sound cool anyway. Yeah, whatever he said."

"Wow, that's quite a tale! Not many Pokémon come through here with a story like that. Seems like everyone in the Guilds has a driving force behind what they do, and some reasons are... well, better than others."

She pauses for a second, thinking of what to address next. The team could tell she was interested for whatever reason.

"So that’s the "why" and the "how"; what about the "what"? What do you think made the Guild decide to accept you into the ranks?"

"Professor Chelle herself invited me, actually," Morgan started. "We both had a hand in pacifying the living statue. Apparently, she thought it useful to take along some brawn with all the brains this guild has."
"I guess, yeah," Curie agreed. "As for me, I'd like to say they recruited me for my boundless intellect, vast knowledge, good looks, combat experience, et cetera... but they really didn't, even though those are all perfectly viable reasons. They just wanted me to stop haunting the archives in the basement."
A concerned look flashed over Kali's face, as if she remembered something unpleasant. She quickly recovered, however.

"Oh wow, that's pretty cool! You guys are lucky. Y'know sometimes I wish I had a better skill set like that; then maybe I’d be more help to the Guild. Pretty much the only things I do around here are draw and deliver papers everywhere and, well, get stuck helping Archie."

"What, you mean archimedes?" Curie's eyes lit up like tiny candles of hate. "Oh, I feel for you, Kali. I only had to deal with him once or twice, but to be around him all day... You have my respect."
Kali  nods furiously, almost hitting an innocent bystander.

"I mean yeah sure he's one of the Guild Leaders, but he's just so... so... annoying, always bossing people around and taking credit for everything and acting like he's so much smarter than everyone else. And I'm always the one having to put up with him since someone has to help him but everyone else always runs off before they get stuck with him instead!"

"Just out of curiosity, Little Miss, who is this Archimedes figure?" Morgan asked Curie. "I don't believe I've met him yet."
"Oh, trust me, you will eventually. And you will not enjoy it."

"And oh gosh, there I go running my mouth, ahaha! Sorry, I'm not talking too much or anything, am I? I kind of have a tendency to ramble on sometimes... And I probably really shouldn’t be bad-mouthing Archimedes... And OH MY GOSH I still need to take care of these!"

She immediately ran off, before coming to a halt a few meters after. She turned to wave, and only barely managed to save her papers from scattering again. No lethal casualties, luckily.

"Uh, it was nice meeting you! I'll, er, see you later, I hope?"

She smiled one last time before barging through the door, narrowly avoiding a swirlix on the other side.
"What a goofball," Curie commented.
"It's good to see how hospitable even the most busy of Researchers are, really," Morgan said. "Now then, where were we..."

Well, PMDU is a go! Join Morgan and Curie as they travel the land, make great discoveries and do other things the mods haven't warned me about.

Like #PMD-Explorers, #PMDUnity is a drop-in, drop-out storytelling group.
Every so often, the mods give us a bit of story and I write it out. It's really simple.

Morgan the shiny metang
Jolly - Likes to relax - Clear body
STR 4 - AGI 0 - INT 4 - CHA 4
Magnet rise - Telekinesis - Miracle eye - Meteor mash

Morgan
is the old grandfather children all around the village love so much because of his stories. He is old, and enjoys nothing more than a sunny afternoon and a good compass node. Don't take him for a frail, tired old man though, as he has plenty energy to collect new stories every day.

Avoid making him angry under any circumstances. He may be as slow as you'd expect, but good luck dodging when he floats you into the air. His miracle eye stares straight into the soul, and his right arm hands swift and brutal punishment. Once he locks onto you, there's no way out of taking 65 kilograms of bladed silver to the head.

Curie the misdreavus
Sassy - Highly curious - Levitate
STR 1 - AGI4 - INT 4 - CHA 3
Screech - Confuse ray - Imprison - Inferno

Curie is a hyperactive little girl who likes to zoom around, snark at whatever dares move and generally is a nuisance to anyone nearby. Now that she finally left her sheltered archives, she travels with Morgan to see the world for herself. She is still a huge bookworm, though.

While physically frail, she uses illusions to turn her foes’ minds against them. If that doesn’t work, she retreats through a wall and calls her favourite book Thomas for help. His pages lock in their target before combusting in its face. Don't expect a fair fight against her. Actually, don't even expect a real fight at all.
